Start your day with a refreshing 1.3km walk along the Themeda Trail in Jubilee Park on a beautiful clear day. Enjoy the breathtaking escarpment views of the valley below. For those who prefer a faster pace, Jubilee Park is a popular spot for runners and mountain bikers, with well-maintained bike trails suitable for all skill levels.
Now it’s time for a coffee and some light refreshments. You can’t go wrong with the ‘best scones’ and other delicious food items at Cobb’s Coffee Shop, located in Cobb & Co Museum in Toowoomba. While you’re there, make sure to visit the fascinating Cobb and Co Museum, which showcases over a million natural and cultural heritage items. There are also exhibitions and attractions for the kids to enjoy. Check out Cobb and Co’s current What’s On page here.
Whether you’re a train enthusiast or not, we highly recommend taking a journey on the historical Downs Steam Tourist Railway Train to explore the picturesque Darling Downs countryside. Remember to pre-book your tickets here. It’s an experience you don’t want to miss!

As you head further south into Warwick, we are spoiled for choice when it comes to delicious gourmet food and wine in our area. If you’re looking for our top picks for lunch, we highly recommend the Bluebird Kitchen & Bar or Belle Vue Café in Warwick.
If a winery is more your style, we have a few recommendations that won’t disappoint, such as Ballandean Estate Wines, Symphony Hill Wines, Robert Channon Wines, Bent Road Winery, and Ridgemill Estate. Even better, you can book a guided winery tour with door-to-door pick up and drop off. Our local, reputable tour companies like Filippos Tours, Wine Discovery Tours, or Wild Cat Tracks offer this service. Most companies provide this service whether you’re staying at Big4 Freedom Toowoomba or have already moved to Freedom Lifestyle Park Warwick.
If wine just isn’t your thing and you prefer a nice cold beer instead, you must visit Granite Belt Brewery or Brass Monkey Brewhouse.
Day 3 – Exploring Warwick and the Southern Downs Region
For your last day in our stunning region, we can suggest several delightful cafes in town for a delicious gourmet breakfast. Afterward, embark on an Artistic Walking Trail, which showcases local artists and their creative masterpieces.
Next, drive northeast for around 40 minutes to Main Range National Park. Here, you can immerse yourself in the beauty of rainforest trails, visit breathtaking waterfalls like Queen Mary Falls, experience bird feeding where lorikeets eat birdseed out of your hands, admire the incredible views at Carr’s lookout, and stop by the Spring Creek Mountain Café for a cup of coffee or breakfast with lovely rainforest views.
The Southern Downs region offers countless incredible attractions to explore. In fact, it would take weeks to fully experience and enjoy everything our region has to offer in terms of food, drinks, sights, and activities.
